Joshua Tree Place-Making Concept Cafe
Joshua Tree Café Concept Deck
This presentation deck outlines a visionary café concept in Joshua Tree, California—designed to blur the line between indoors and outdoors.
My design philosophy is simple: the most powerful interiors embody the surrounding landscape. Spaces should feel resonant, grounding, supportive, and inspiring. In Joshua Tree—a landscape so iconic it could be identified anywhere in the world—most cafés fall into one of two aesthetics: old western saloon or LA-chic. To me, that’s a missed opportunity.
This concept explores a third way:
- A café that carries the textures, tones, and story of the land.
- Architecture that diffuses the boundary between exterior and interior.
- A design language that is tactile, authentic, connective, and infused with a sense of magic.
Inside the deck, you’ll find:
- Moodboards and visual direction for the café’s design.
- Concept sketches and samples.
- An approach rooted in place-making and local craft.
If you’re curious about place-based design, architecture inspired by nature, or regenerative hospitality concepts, this deck will spark ideas and inspiration.
